Spider Vein Removal Rejuvenate your legs! Erase broken capillaries on your face! Laser treatment of telangiectasia ( also known as spider veins ) of both face and lower extremities is now available from LaserCare. At LaserCare we use both the VERSAPULSE® Aesthetic Laser and the Palomar Pulsed Light System. We are able to clear spider veins with minimal to no unpleasant side effects. THIS MEANS NO BRUISING! Until now, laser treatment of blood vessels caused the vessels to rupture and left dark bruising ( purpura ) under the skin , which lasted several weeks. The Versapulse® is revolutionary in that it delivers laser energy more slowly than the quick blast of earlier lasers. The vessels are treated over a longer period of time and, therefore, stay intact during treatment. The Versapulse® Laser treatment is made more comfortable by the use of a chill tip, which comes in contact with the skin over the blood vessel, cooling it to 4.0 degrees C before, during, and after treatment. This serves to protect the skin from injury, as well as reduce discomfort. Side effects of treatment are few, but may include redness, swelling, or pain at the treatment sight for a few days. Rarely seen is blistering or temporary skin pigment change on darker skinned individuals. The Versapulse® laser works by transmitting laser light through the skin to the blood within the blood vessels being treated. As the light is absorbed, it is converted to heat, which is conducted to the surrounding walls of the vessels. If enough damage is done to the walls of these tiny veins, the circulatory system will not be able to repair it, and there will be complete disappearance. This occurs in only one treatment in 80% of cases. If vessels are still visible after 4 to 6 weeks, one or two more treatments may be necessary. Good candidates for treatment with the Versapulse® Laser have light skin, which has not been exposed to the sun in recent months. Dark, or tanned skin will absorb some of the laser light resulting in damage to the skin. Only small spider veins are effectively treated. Laser treatment is cosmetic, and does not treat vascular disease. Patients with large, bulging or varicosed veins, or those with venous insufficiency, are not effectively treated by this method. Rosacea on the face and genetic telangiectasia on the lower extremities are very effectively removed with the Versapulse® Vascular Laser. The Palomar Pulsed Light System
is also used to effectively treat spider veins, brown spots
and rosacea. Pulses of concentrated light are directed
onto the skin and absorbed by the blood (for vascular lesion
treatment) or the melanin (for pigmented lesion
treatment). Pulsed Light Systems are similar to lasers,
but with a larger, more diffuse beam for safe, fast and
comfortable treatments. Call for your free consultation
and we will help you decide which treatment is right for
you. For
